Thurndan Tallwand was one of the most powerful wizards in Mulmaster [4] and the leader of the Brotherhood of the Cloak in 1373.[5] and 1491 DR[1]
Activities
As the head of this magic-oriented organization in 1373 it was Thurndan's responsibility to ensure the safety of High Blade Rassendyll Uoumdolphin. Though he currently fulfilled this duty to the letter, it is his hope however to find Rassendyll's weakness and sieze control of Mulmaster.[4]
History
Thurndan in 1375 conspired with Rassendyll to usurp Selfaril Uoumdolphin’s rule, thinking Rassendyll a more tractable ruler than his twin brother. Thurndan magically imprisoned Selfaril in a soulgem in the pommel of his sword.[1] In time Thurndan come to regret his decision and tried to made admen. In the years he become a Lich and always remained the head of the Cloak using various alias. In 1491 he was known as Rastol Shan. In that year resurfaced in Earthspur Mountains the Sword of Selfaril and Thurndan, that disliked currently High Blade Jaseen Drakehorn, decided to took the blade and finally free Selfaril.[1] With help of some adventurers Thurndan gained possession of the blade and resurrected the former High Blade.[6]
Personality
Thurndan had betrayed Selfaril for what thought was better for his city, but mistaken. Under Rassendyll and successive High Blades the Church of Bane become step by step more powerful; in 1491 they putted limits to the Cloaks' powers and this motivated Thurndan to act[1]
