Tordon Sureblade was the Lord Chancellor of Ravens Bluff[1] from ? -- ?

AppearanceEdit

(The "current year" for the people and events in Gateway to Ravens Bluff, the Living City is just before the Time of Troubles, approximately 1356 -- 1357 DR.)

Tordon Sureblade is short and muscular at 5'5" and 175 pounds. He is meticulous about his appearance, always dressing neatly in conservative colors, especially grays and browns.

PersonalityEdit

Tordon is a man of few words, very solemn and dedicated to Torm and his duties as Lord Chancellor of the city's legal system. His main goal is to promote justice by creating a comprehensive system of laws. This requires much paperwork and he worries that the demands of his job is making him stale as a fighter of evil. He rarely shows his feelings but occasionally reveals he has a dry wit. He tolerates non-evil faiths and tries to be as fair as possible in dealing with them. He gives 40 percent of his income to the temple to help the poor. He dearly loves his half-brother Thorm but despairs at his impulsive nature, which frequently leads him into brawls.

BackgroundEdit

Tordon grew up in Ravens Bluff and saw first hand the corruption and lawlessness that plagued the city before Charles Oliver O'Kane became the Lord Mayor. He has the same father as Thorm but his mother was a human named Eleanora. After learning to read, he spent many years in libraries educating himself about history, religion, politics, and legends, alternating with training to be a warrior. Eventually he dedicated his life to Torm and became a Paladin. Sometime in the 1350's DR he was appointed Lord Chancellor of Ravens Bluff but he still finds time to help train young paladins and aid the temple however he can. As Lord Chancellor he is automatically a member of the Council of Lords.[1][2]
