A trident was a three-pronged martial piercing weapon.[2]

UsageEdit

A trident could be thrown, but it was not as well-balanced as a spear. It also was effective in defending against charges.[2]

ReputationEdit

The trident was often associated with the ocean. It was commonly used by undersea races such as sahuagin[3] It was the favored weapon of the ocean deities Umberlee,[4] Deep Sashelas,[5] Persana,[6] and Sekolah.[7]

Notable OwnersEdit

Thessaloni Canos, tharchion of Aloar in Thay, wielded a trident.[8] A trident was the preferred weapon of the drow weapon master Uthegentel Del'Armgo.[9]
