The Turami were an ethnic group of humans who made up the primary population of Turmish.[1]

Turami had flat faces with mahogany skin tones. Their hair was curly, and they tended towards muscular and tall builds.[1]

Turmic was the language of the Turami. They employed the Thorass alphabet in their writings, which they learned from trade with the Calishites and Chondathans.[1]

The Turami were native to the region around the Alamber Sea, but they were displaced by the migrating Mulan tribes after the fall of Imaskar in −2488 DR.[1][2] They came to settle in the area around Alaghôn and founded the nation of Turmish in −37 DR.[1]

Rumors & LegendsEdit

The Methwood was said to contain the ruins of a city of the Turami from the time of Imaskar.[3][4]

Behind the ScenesEdit

According to Claudio Pozas, a freelance artist at Wizards of the Coast, artists working for them on Forgotten Realms material were given a primer - a "setting bible" - that told them that Turami wear clothing similar to 'Ethiopian garb'.
