Hi, welcome to the wiki and thanks for your contributions so far. It's important that the wiki provides reliable information via good referencing. Could you provide references for your additions to Chondalwood and Wood of Sharp Teeth? I have removed your addition to Forest of Tethir and Forest of Mir because I couldn't find anywhere that the cited sources made mention of the information you added. There is a good guide on referencing at Help:Citing sources. Fw190a8 (talk · contr) 19:28, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, FW190a8. I've referenced the personal communications with Ed Greenwood, who I met in the summer of 1988. I joined a group for one of the last D&D games he held at his workplace, playing a priestess of Sharess. Some of the details about the vegetation came from my imagination -- a forest at the latitude of the Chondalwood or Mir, for example, would be expected to have mostly warm temperate evergreen species.
Scott Haring described the Forest of Mir as pine-dominated and stifling in his Empires of the Sands (I gave away my copy long ago and can't remember the page number, but the info is there). Angilbas 01:15, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the references, Angilbas. I have found the right page in Empires of the Sands. It's quite a claim to fame to be able to say you sat down with Ed for a game of D&D! The problem here is that while I have no reason to doubt you, others no doubt will, and a personal communication would not be a canon source. Still, the effort is very much appreciated. Please add a source for the images Image:White pine grove.jpg, Image:Cucurucho de castanhas Galicia.jpg, Image:Châtaignier 120807 1.jpg and Image:Maple Leaf Red Stump 3008px.jpg. If they have been taken from Wiki Commons or something like that, please link back there. Fw190a8 (talk · contr) 19:21, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
