The Wondermen were mages who experimented with magic and extraplanar travel. Their crypt was situated beneath Nightshade nightclub in Scornubel. It was said that several members were turned into liches and that they kept guard of the crypt, hunting down anyone who stole from it.

The crypt of the Wondermen was said to be full of magical items like dancing ioun stones, gloves, rings, and wands. It also contained a huge crystal sphere with a nishruu inside. The sphere could be moved by a hand control on a nearby pedestal. Legend said that if the nishruu was released, it would roam Abeir-Toril and devour all magic, resulting in the brute rule of the goblinkin overcoming everyone else.[2]
