Yarin Frostmantle was the king of the Bloodstone Lands.[1]

HistoryEdit

Yarin Frostmantle was born a noble in the Bloodstone Lands. He bought lots of land and became the richest man in the land; it was said that was how he became king circa 1464 DR. It was also rumored that Frostmantle had murdered the previous king, Murtil Dragonsbane, thus ending the line of Dragonsbane. As king, he was very paranoid and operated multiple spy networks.[1]

By 1484 DR, Frostmantle had no heirs and was on his seventh wife, Queen Concettina, whom he married three years previously. Frostmantle had divorced his first four wives because of claims of barrenness. The fifth and sixth wives had been executed by guillotine in the palace gardens: the fifth wife for treason (it was claimed she had taken substances to prevent pregnancy) and the sixth for murder (it was rumored she had given birth to a son whom she murdered in bed). Statues of each of the wives were located in the palace gardens; the statues of the fifth and sixth wives were headless.[2]

RelationshipsEdit

King Frostmantle was seen as a tyrant king. He had a poor relationship with the Monastery of the Yellow Rose,[3] although his Minister of Records was a monk from the Yellow Rose.[4]

Dreylil Andrus served as Frostmantle's Captain of the Court Guard in 1484 DR.[5]
