Yukio the Rice Merchant was one of the most powerful merchant in Miyama Province in Kozakura in 1357 DR.[1]


Yukio operated by a large fortified house with all confort in the Castle District of Tamanokuni. His house housed 20 members of his family, 30 servants, six business clerks and an overseer and for protection 250 bushi led by 10 ronin. Plus he sponsored the school of the kensai Oshio and his five students, which was located on the grounds.[1]
